The ‘dog train’ is the invention of Eugene
Bostick, an 80-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas who retired 15 years ago – and set about changing
dog’ likes. The story, which featured on The Dodo, has been shared more than 173,000 times,
as people fall head-over-heels with the collection of pups – and Eugene’s incredible selflessness.
Eugene says: “We live down on a dead-end street, where me and my brother have a horse barn.”
People sometimes come by and dump dogs out here, leaving them to starve.” So, we started
feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet to get them spayed and neutered.
We made a place for them to live.”One day I was out and I seen this guy with a tractor
who attached these carts to pull rocks. I thought, ‘Dang, that would do for a dog train’.”
Handy Eugene did just that, and now there’s a way for these poor, dejected dogs to get
out and about.” The dogs have a great time. They just really enjoy it.”The dogs look pretty
excited, but then so does Eugene.
