Watch This 19-Year-Old Puppy Pick His Very Own Toy At The Pet Store | The Dodo Adopt Me!

We went out to my car, I opened the door and bam! He just jumped right in that car! It’s so common for people
to dump their dog at a shelter when he gets old and requires a
little more medical care or whatever. The rescue posted him. I didn’t know what kind of dog it was. I just knew that it was
a 19-year-old dog. I immediately called and
asked to foster him. We get there and he
is trotting into the store. Took us a minute to find the toy
aisle but when we did, he was just checking out every bin. When you look at him,
you see a senior dog. He’s obviously an older boy but
his mind has not registered that. After we saw the kind of things he
was sniffing out, we helped him to pick out a toy. And he was very excited to discover
this toy that he could hold in his mouth and that had a squeaky in it. We thought we were letting him
carry it to the cash register but he reckoned it was time
to take this toy home. He clearly can’t see very well, although
he can certainly see well enough to play fetch. And I’ll throw low on the ground and closer. He very happy to get his toy that he had personally selected. He pranced all the way to the car. He pretty much played with that
toy all the way home. And especially a dog like Ace. He has really good house manners. After I had him for a couple of days,
I asked him to sit and he sat. And I asked him to lie
down and he went down. And gets along with my dogs and my cat. I was pretty sure that I’d have to
adjust my walks. Shorten the walks, walk slowly
but he was a surprise. Because this dog, on every walk, is
forging ahead of the rest of the pack, always needs to be in the lead. He’s a pretty amazing dog
with such a young spirit, so many toys to play with, so many walks to take.

  1. He is amazing !
My aunt's family had 2 dogs who surpass 21 – but on the last few years were a shadows of their old self.

  2. I know that there are always more dogs in need of fostering and that the goal is to find a forever home but, realistically, at 19 years old Ace does not have much longer before his time comes to go over the Rainbow Bridge…so I'm rooting for this beautiful senior to become a "foster failure" so he can remain with this wonderful woman, in her wonderful home!

  3. So sad to see that he won't be around for a long time ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’” hope he enjoys these moments to the fullest , my love โ™ฅ๏ธ

  4. Our beloved dog was 18 1/2 yrs old & watching this video made me smile & cry at the same time. This sweet lady & dog r true angels! ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿถ

  5. Oh my! He's a sweetheart!โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿพโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿพโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿพโ™ฅ๏ธ

  6. That is sooooo cuteeeee!!!!!

  7. I wonder what breed/breeds he is to live 19 years and in relatively good health. That's amazing. I hope he finds a great home.

  8. 19 years old? Wow! Bless this baby soul. My baby died at the age of 19, he has a wonderful years with me till the end ๐Ÿ™

  9. I just had to send my handsome old man over the bridge last month…he was 18…..old dogs are way cool….I enjoyed seeing him as a tiny pup and a handsome boy to my handsome old man,…together until the end like it should be for every fur kid

  11. Heโ€™s the gold at the end of the rainbow. Old dogs are amazing because it takes a long time for a soul to get that sweet.

  12. How sad that his owner โ€˜dumpedโ€™ him. They never deserved this beautiful creature of God in the first place.

  13. Oh my gosh he is so PRECIOUS!!! It doesn't matter how old a dog gets EVERY!! dog deserves a LOVING and caring home! Anyone will be happy with this old derpy pup!

  14. This was going to happen to my mother inlaws rottweiler when she died. He's a very old dog that no one wanted. So my wife and I took him home to Texas with us and he's been a very good boy ever since. Old dogs are so much more fun. They have wisdom and a solid understanding of how life works. He's grateful for everything he gets because he already knows how it felt to bot have much. They're also alot wiser in tbeir older years. Puppies are fun but older dogs are great.

  15. This dog is sooooo cute๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

  16. I want to adopt him should I I have one dog but I want this one as well I donโ€™t care how long he live I just want to give him love

  17. Ooooh he such an Amazing dog!So energetic and cute! And a bit sofisticate …He does not like just a random new toy ๐Ÿ˜…

  18. Heโ€™s 19? Wow! Thatโ€™s impressive, that he is still full of pep!!!! I declare an established loving family will adopt him…I love his energy and excitement

  19. I would if I werenโ€™t an underage Canadian whose parents donโ€™t want another dog. Also, are there any therapists here for those 25 people who disliked this! They clearly have something wrong up there.

  20. It would b great to have that dog but I can tell that whoever takes him is going to b SO MAJORLY HEARTBROKEN when he goes. He just really seems like one of those pets that plants itself DEEP n ur heart. He's special

  21. First, you lovely lovely woman! Thank you for being a compassionate, generous doer of a human being. Imagine the sort of person that sees a pup in need and drops everything to save a little furry stranger. I just think you're wonderful. Second, pupper seems so happy and well trained and socialised? I wonder if his elderly mum or dad passed on and there was no one to take care of him?

  22. my dog is turning 10 years old in december, hope he reached 19 or maybe more! and still active like the precious dog in the video.

  23. My mum's dog is 13, and we are not sure if she will make 14 because she has cancer. She still acts like a puppy though! โค๏ธ โค๏ธ โค๏ธ

  24. Ace looks amazing for his age!! I am a proud parent of a 14 year old dog. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Even though she is getting older, she still likes to go on walks and car rides.

  25. I found an older dog a few days ago. His fur was really matted, had doody in it. His eye sight was clearly bad. He was just wandering down the street. I can't keep him, so I drove around till I found a shelter that'd take him. Turns out he had a chip, but the phone number was no good, and the owner had moved to Arizona 16 years ago! I'm guessing he'd been left with a friend or relatives. I'm hoping someone will take him. Poor baby. Sweet little guy deserves a decent retirement…

  26. Oh my heart โค๏ธ – I lost my beautiful 13 year old blue heeler last year to cancer. Iโ€™d do anything to have him here at 19. I tried to do everything I could to heal him so we could have more years like that. Iโ€™ve never loved anyone or anything as much as him. I canโ€™t understand how anyone could let their old dog go.

  27. If i lived in the states, i would so come see him with the mission to adopt him. Heโ€™s soo cute ๐Ÿ˜

  28. You will never see a pure breed reach this grand age and be as fit as a fiddle. That's some good mongrel genes right there. He's a dog version of cocoon.

  29. Heโ€™s like the definition some say about grandfathers, a grandfather is someone with SILVER in his hair and GOLD in his heart. He sure gets around good and looks like a kid getting a toy lol. Dogs truly bring love, teach loyalty and care to their families. I wish they were here a lot longer than what they are given but they pack in a lot of lessons to us about love, loyalty in their lifespan. I guess Iโ€™m greedy because I wish they were here with us for our whole lifespan๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโค๏ธ

  30. I WILL ADOPT HIM, in a heartbeat. I am in Arizona but can come to Sacramento immediately. Will the sspca website lead me to him?

  31. Damn it, if only I wasn't a college student… He's absolutely gorgeous! And so full of life! Hope he finds the perfect home soon ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. I'm so happy Ace got a new toy ๐Ÿ˜Š He's such a sweet boy…I wish I could adopt him but I live in Canada and already have two chihuahuas, the maximum allowed at my apartment complex ๐Ÿ˜” Whomever gets to add Ace to their family is so lucky โค
