[Lively music] I always wonder, and I mean this keeps me up at night, when words just appear in our collective language. Where all of a sudden overnight people are using this word and we’re all like yeah! this word always existed But it didn’t. Somebody sitting around watching their cat suddenly was like, oh well that’s a cute… It goes around the world like the flu, but usually cute or funny flu not like, you know… Anyhow lucky for us We have the cat-daddy dictionary because today we’re going to explore one of those words and it’s a good one. Let’s get started [snaps fingers] [Harp cord] [Questionable British accent] Welcome! to another edition of [classical music] cat-daddy dictionary with your host Jackson galaxy Today we explore a word which emerged from the mist like a fawn, frolicking in the weeds. BLEP What is blep? it’s time to find out. [clears throat] [Typewriter typing] BLEP: the act of sticking one’s tongue out slightly without realizing it, often for long periods of time. [Typewriter ding] to wit Okay, that was a long period of time. [Typing] In cats, an Instagram worthy expression that animal lovers find adorable. [Ding] To use in a sentence: look at that blep over there That’s very bleppy indeed. If I may contribute to our new lexicon There is a variation being rep-blep to wit It’s not easy and it’s not for everybody but it is done. Now let’s find out what blep looks like and when I return I will do my best to explain to you, why blep? Roll em! While somebody watched TV and said: Oh! how bleppy! and their friend said: What? Blep! I don’t know. It’s my imagination, Anyhow! Why blep? to find out let’s bring back the American. Why blep? honestly we’ve all seen cats do something like this where they kind of forget what they’re doing and the tongue is out and Listen, you’ve done it before where you’re just sitting there and you know you’re thinking about something and you go like this and it’s like five minutes later and you’re like How did my finger get here? Maybe you haven’t done that? What about when you go where’s my glasses? Where’s my glasses? I’ve been looking all over for my glasses. I have done that that’s what a blep is. Usually when a cat bleps right beforehand They were probably Grooming themselves a little bit of this a little bit of this and don’t forget cat’s tongue has barbs in it, small barbs they’re rough They’re not smooth tongues so the idea of them just sticking out a little bit after a groom session, not the most unforgivable thing in the world, It just happens to be adorable That we can all agree upon.
